KATA is a contemporary Japanese restaurant with a high-end cosmopolitan vibe. Situated on the waterfront promenade of The Dubai Mall, diners are treated to unbeatable views of The Dubai Fountain and Burj Khalifa.
Our Dubai fit-out team took on this exciting project, with determination to deliver an end result worthy of this prime location which attracts extensive daily footfall. No detail was overlooked in delivering this ‘authentic meets contemporary’ finish, with a stunning brass sushi bar taking centre stage in the restaurant.
The bar is complemented by dark flooring and illuminated curved, red Perspex wall arches, but the real star of the show for us is the incredible curved parabolic main door with its twisted Perspex feature. The piece was formed on-site, and the twisted nature of the arch made it extremely intricate. Our team dedicated many hours to achieving the perfect finish. In addition, Hong Kong based artist, Wong Ting Fung aka ‘TF’ created a breathtaking bespoke, hand painted mural, dominating the parallel wall.
We were able to achieve the end result by meticulously researching suitable materials and prototyping with the finishes to achieve a first-class delivery. The designers for this brilliant project were XBD.
